Occupational Health Exams for a Dispersed Workforce

Occupational Health Exams for a Dispersed Workforce

Since its founding in 1986, CHR has developed a reputation as the company to call for occupational health exams in the U.S. and Canada. We facilitate access to a network of more than 16,000 qualified providers, including drug screen collection sites, clinics, independent medical examiners and case managers – regardless of where a job applicant or employee is located. Our corporate office operates from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern time, and we provide “CHR 24/7” for after-hours needs such as post-accident drug screens and workers’ compensation accident/injury case management services.

We provide access to the following types of exams:

  • Preplacement – A preplacement exam may be as basic as a drug screen and history review as comprehensive as needed, including audiograms, spirometry, EKGs, chest x-rays, chemistry panel, and complete blood count with differential.
  • Department of Transportation – Our team will notify commercial drivers prior to the expiration of their DOT cards. Our quality control process ensures that cards are issued in compliance with medical guidelines. We also arrange for sleep apnea studies for drivers, as needed.
  • Maritime Medical Surveillance – CHR can customize these services to meet the unique needs of your organization and keep you in compliance with all applicable regulatory standards.
  • Hearing Conservation – CHR will recall your scattered sales force on an annual basis for their mandatory audiograms. We can monitor for STS and notify your employees when repeat testing is required.
  • Respirator Clearance – CHR will administer the OSHA Mandatory Respirator Questionnaire and have them reviewed by a health care professional. If additional testing is required, CHR will arrange for that testing.
  • Respirator Fit Testing – Employees with respirator clearance can be scheduled for qualitative and/or quantitative fit testing.
  • Mobile Equipment Operator
  • HAZMAT
  • Return to Work – CHR’s nurse case managers can arrange for non-occupational return to work exams for your scattered workforce.
  • Case Management – CHR’s case management nurse can manage those complicated medical issues for you to ensure confidentiality for your employees.
  • Functionality Capacity – Our network will identify a specialist close to your employees to determine their ability to do the job. You will provide the essential job functions of the position and our nurse case managers will take it over from there.
  • Drug & Alcohol Screening
    • Regulated/Non-Regulated – CHR can provide DOT and non-DOT testing. We offer random selection, expanded opiate panels and rapid tests.
    • Hair Screening – Using a sample collected from the first 1.5 inches of hair closest to the scalp can detect drug use for up to 90 days after repetitive use (Source: Quest Diagnostics Employer Solutions).
  • Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) – CHR’s case management nurse will identify a specialist with no knowledge of your employee to provide an unbiased opinion of his or her ability to perform the job. The employee will be asked to release his or her medical records and the Employer will need to provide the essential job functions.
  • Immunizations
    • Travel Health – CHR’s network of clinics can provide travel health assessments prior to departure. Travel health kits can be arranged.
    • Flu Shot Program – CHR can arrange for your remote employees to have flu shots in their local area. In addition, we can arrange for shots to be given at worksites with 10 or more employees.
    • Immunizations for Vendor Credentialing – CHR has many clients with employees that must satisfy immunization credentialing requirements. CHR will work directly with the employee to complete the vaccinations or titres (blood tests) required to show proof of immunity.
  • Executive – CHR’s network of Executive health facilities will customize the exam to suit your company’s needs. Exams are done at occupational health clinics and those specializing exclusively for Executives. Costs vary depending on the level of clinical services.
  • Expatriate – CHR will arrange for your Expatriates and Rotators to have their exams prior to their next placement. This exam includes travel health and VISA requirements.
