Release Date Set for Global OSH Standard
The Organization for Standardization (ISO) has announced the release date for the global occupational safety and health management standard it's been working on for five years. ISO 45001 will be available starting March 12, 2018.

CSB on the Budget Chopping Block
The U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) is one of the federal agencies slated for elimination under the 2019 budget proposal. The cuts are part of an effort to slash the federal deficit by $3 trillion over the next 10 years.

Drowsy Driving a Bigger Problem than Previously Thought
The percentage of crashes involving drowsiness is nearly 8 times higher than federal estimates indicate. Analysis of in-vehicle dashcam video from more than 700 crashes confirmed that the danger of drowsy driving goes well beyond the federal estimates of drowsiness being a factor in crashes.
