Occupational Health Nurse – Case Management (Metro DC Area):

Corporate Health Resources, Inc. (CHR) is looking for a full-time nurse case manager (NCM) in the Metro DC area to provide case management services to our nationwide clients. This position is in CHR’s Rockville, MD Headquarters. The position may be Remote for the right candidate. All NCMs may be required to travel for client-site meetings periodically.

We provide ongoing CEU-accredited professional development opportunities and annual conferences. This position provides an ideal opportunity for an organized, talented, experienced, and motivated Nurse Case Manager to work independently while still being part of a supportive team.

Primary Responsibilities

Through daily consultations with practitioners, employer representatives, and examinees, the NCM will assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate options and services to meet the health and return-to-work needs of workers as related to personal (i.e. short-term disability) and/or workers’ compensation cases. Must have working knowledge of travel health assessments, expatriation, executive programs, return to work, post-accidents cases involving Occupational health related issues.

The NCM will be responsible for documenting all activities using a web-based case management system and for identifying and obtaining all documentation pertinent to the examinees recovery plan.

This position reports to the Program Manager. The NCM will be accountable for maintaining an assigned caseload and will be required to follow company and client protocols.

Minimum Requirements

  • Unrestricted State RN license in a Compact State
  • Other state licenses/certifications as required by law, as needed
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
  • 3+ years clinical nursing experience
  • 3+ years case management in Workers’ Compensation/Maritime/Expat/Occupational Health/Disability preferred
  • CCM or COHN desired or obtained after 12 months of date of hire
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently
  • Willingness and ability to travel (local and national)
  • Computer literacy required, specifically Excel.

Occupational Health Nurse – Santa Rosa CA

CHR has a permanent part-time (three five-hour days/week) opening for an Occupational Health RN / Case Manager in Santa Rosa, CA.

Description of Position Duties:

  • Primary contact for injured employee for information about workers’ compensations process and referral to appropriate resources regarding benefits integration.
  • Gather pertinent information for Third Party Administrators (TPA) and/or workers’ compensation insurance company for determination of claim, including work history, hazard exposure/incident detail, symptoms and other medical information.
  • Determine OSHA recordability. Track lost work days and restricted days. Document in electronic database and/or spreadsheet format once a month by the 8th calendar day of the month. Collaborates with EHS team for review, analysis and communication of I/I data.
  • Participates in case management review, recordkeeping and incident investigation reviews and other forums that WC data and process are discussed.
  • Communicate anticipated date of return to work and expected restrictions with manager, EHS professionals and OHN when applicable.
  • Lead occupational ‘Return to Work (RTW)’ process and assist human resources with non-occupational RTW situations as needed. Document modified duty position, complete necessary forms.
  • Coordinate effective claims handling by all involved in case (employee, TPA and/or insurance company, personal disability vendor, medical providers, human resources, legal, risk management, workers’ compensation broker, etc.)
  • Provide quarterly metrics to regional business and EHS management team.
  • Conduct claims reviews with TPA and/or insurance company adjusters and annual legal review.
  • Case Manager maintains current knowledge of workers’ compensation case law and statute for assigned states.
  • Ensure legal obligations are met, working with internal team, TPA and/or insurance company and consultants.
  • Communicate regularly with injured workers, managers, TPA and/or insurance company and other representatives as needed.
  • Work closely with external partners including TPA and/or insurance company, internal and external legal to ensure workers’ compensation legal compliance and company policy is followed.


  • RN, licensed in California
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience with Occupational Health Nursing and Case Management required
  • COHN, COHN-S, and/or CCM preferred
  • Strong knowledge of California Workers Compensation required
  • Experience and aptitude with a computer electronic medical record
  • Must be organized and work well in a team environment with deadlines and frequent interruptions
  • Must possess problem-solving skills

Occupational Health Registered Nurse

Corporate Health Resources (CHR) is seeking an Occupational Health Registered Nurse to perform case management, arrange initial medical appointments for work-related illness/injury, and coordinate the medical surveillance program.

The job is full-time: two days/week in the Southern San Francisco area, 2 days/week in Sunnyvale, and 1 day/week in Redwood City. The company has signed a lease to consolidate all three locations in Southern San Francisco in 2020.
