October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

IMG_0314Terri Trumble, Program Manager/Project Team Lead at CHR for nearly 20 years now, also is a recent Breast Cancer Survivor. In association with her son’s Skyline High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, she lead a fundraiser to benefit the University of Michigan Breast Cancer Program Fund.

The fundraising campaign took place during the week of October 6, and culminated with one of the largest “Pink Out” grand finale events in the high school’s history on October 10. CHR is a proud sponsor of this meaningful fundraiser, and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Program Fund.

^^ Karen Cohen, Marjie Shapiro and Gloria’s Gang Walk to Defeat ALS – Oct. 21, 2012 – in memory of Marjie’s mother Gloria, who died over 25 years ago from ALS. CHR plans to make this an annual event.

<< First Place and high scorer of the PVDA (Potomac Valley Dressage Show), Carolyn Akin riding a 17-hand thoroughbred gelding owned by Cass Foley, Pleasant Ridge Farm in Union Bridge Maryland.

Karen Cohen Walks Golden Gate Bridge

Karen Cohen, RHIA recently had the opportunity to walk the Golden Gate Bridge in both directions while traveling to the Western Occupational Health Conference in San Francisco, CA on September 13-15, 2012.

“It was breathtaking,” says Karen.

CHR Announces Top Health Clinics 2011

Congratulations to Top Providers of Occupational Health Services!

Top Health Clinics were selected on the basis of the following criteria:

CHR Supports March of Dimes

In an effort to raise awareness of the disproportionately high premature birth rates in the Hispanic community, CHR Intern and St. Mary’s College of Maryland student, Julia Furey completed a senior thesis project “Every Little Step / Cada Pequeño Paso.”

The project was associated with a Fleet Feet-sponsored 5K run on March 24 benefitting the March of Dimes, and offered bilingual information to families about affordable prenatal care. CHR President Karen Cohen also participated in the event.
