Work and ExerciseTUESDAY, Sept. 17 (HealthDay News) — Barriers and enablers for good nutrition and physical activity influence employee health behaviors, according to research published online Sept. 12 in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Preventing Chronic Disease.

Krysten Blackford, of Curtin University in Perth, Australia, and colleagues conducted an online survey of 111 employees in 55 organizations to identify barriers and enablers for physical activity and nutrition and develop intervention strategies for health promotion in office settings. Older Workers Who Drive Top Traffic Death List: CDC

Older employees who drive for a living are three times more likely to die in an accident than younger workers

THURSDAY, Aug. 21 (HealthDay News) — Older workers who drive as part of their job have significantly higher traffic death rates than younger workers, U.S. health officials reported Thursday.

Workers aged 65 and older have about three traffic-related deaths per 100,000 people, which is triple the rate of workers aged 18 to 54, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. [Read more…]
